New Golf Shoes

Lately I have noticed a major change in Golf Shoes. Once upon a time Golf Shoes were basic ugly shoes with metal spikes. After the realization that the metal spikes where damaging the greens, they began to be outlawed and replaced with plastic spikes.

The rubber/plastic spikes are still used today in the world of golfing, but they have come so far in the technology. Todays golf shoes are engineered to their fullest potential to not only be comfortable but also practical. Take the new “M Project Shoe” by FootJoy for an example.

According to FootJoy.com, “M:Project was designed and developed from the ground up. Thinner leather or mesh uppers allow for a thin but strong upper, a thinner midsole gives you tremendous feel and flexibility, and the lowest profile spikes available ensure your feet are completely in tune with the ground.”

Not only does this shoe have a whole bunch of new technology crammed in it, it also has a whole new styling. The modern look of the shoe might not be for everyone, but I have to say it looks a lot better than most of the shoes on the market today. With an assortment colors and flashy neon trim, you will stand out on the course regardless of your game.

FootJoy has also incorporated the “Spikless” option on this shoe. Yes spikless. This is the newest growing trend coming to golf shoes and is getting really good feedback. The spikless shoe movement goes back a few years but it really gained its popularity in 2011 at The Masters when Freddy Couples was noted for his wear of the Ecco spikeless golf shoes.

All in all its up to you and your feet when it comes to which shoe to put on.
