Adam Scott wins 2013 Masters!

AUGUSTA, GA — It has been a journey with the Masters this year but Australia’s Adam Scott pulls out a victory over Argentina’s Angel Cabrera. This is Scott’s first-ever major championship.

As you were watching the Masters, there was a tale of the usual fairytale. The leaderboard was set with many former Masters Champions from years past including Bernhard Langer, Fred Couples, Steve Stricker, and Jim Furyk. However it wasn’t enough to stop Australia’s newest Major winner from his victory.

While the playoff was the highlight of the tournament, let us not forget the troubles the tournament officials endured throughout this year’s Masters.

The officials started off the week with a one-stroke penalty for 14-year-old Tianlang Guan for delay while later on assessing Tiger Woods with a two-stroke penalty on the 15th for his illegal drop after opting out to disqualify him.

All penalties aside, China’s prodigy settled back down and made history being the youngest player to ever make the cut at the Masters at the age of 14 years old.

However, the competition for this green jacket is rarely for the faint of heart. With a thought-to-be clenching birdie putt on 18 to take a one-stroke lead, the Aussie was confident in the lead. Angel Cabrera had different plans matching Adam Scott with an equally stunning approach to force a playoff for the win.

What was thought to be momentum by most for Cabrera, two playoff holes later it came to a startling halt with a missed birdie putt offset my mere inches. This left Scott with an opportunity. An opportunity in which he sank an 11-foot putt for his first major win giving Australia its first ever green jacket.

It was a long a tiring weekend but less tiring for those who did not have to carry their clubs. All the spectators that participated in their own version of the hunt for the green jacket can relate.
