The 2013 U.S. Open Champion, Justin Rose!

This weekend was extraordinarily eventful in the world of sports! In the NHL, the Boston Bruins tied up the series in the battle for Lord Stanley’s Cup. In the NBA, the San Antonio Spurs took the lead versus the Miami Heat in the fight for the NBA Championship. It was a beautiful weekend for baseball all throughout the United States. The biggest event that took place this weekend was the U.S. Open at Merion Golf Club, in which Justin Rose won his first major win!

First off, Happy Father’s Day to all of the great dad’s in the world! Justin Rose was coached by his father until he passed away from leukemia slightly over a decade ago. After Rose hoisted the U.S. Open trophy after his victory he pointed to the sky to let his father know that this victory was dedicated to him. It has been such a struggle for Justin Rose to win his first major. Rose missed 21 consecutive cuts to start his professional career, despite his terrific swing and form. He has progressively gotten better throughout the years and this has led him to become the first Englishman to win the U.S. Open in 43 years. With this victory Justin Rose climbed up the World Golf Rankings two spots, from #5 to #3. It was a fantastic tournament with a picture perfect ending. Congratulations, Justin Rose!
